Although Anita has only been in the dental field as a hygiene assistant since spring of 2015, she already loves it and is confident that this is the field she wants to pursue. Anita’s ultimate dream is to attend dental school in hopes of becoming a dentist. In order to accomplish her goal, she is beginning her undergraduate in the fall of 2015 at Oakland University. She has also obtained a radiology certification, which will allow her to enhance her skills as a dental hygiene assistant.
On a daily basis, she learns more about her career choice and has the opportunity to observe the doctors, hygienists, and other assistants. Her favorite part about Provident is that all the staff and patients are so kind, friendly and how the team is one big happy family. Her patient care philosophy is that patient’s wants and needs always come first. She believes it is imperative to build a strong relationship with a patient so that he/she can feel cared for. Even though she does not work directly with patients, she constantly tries to make sure that the hygiene department runs smoothly so that patients can have an excellent cleaning experience. The most rewarding part of her job is when a patient leaves with a smile on his/her face.
Anita enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies and TV shows, shopping, swimming, going for walks, and most importantly going to church and bible study.
