In 1979 Dr. Young received his Doctor of Dental Degree from the University of Detroit. Ten years later he accepted a six-month proceptorship Dr. Paul Mentag, placing blades and subperiosteal implants. He began furthering his education in 1985 at the world renowned Misch Implant Institute, root form implant training. On top of that he has taken hundreds of hours of education with some of the best implant clinicians in the world.
Dr. Young stays active at the American Academy of Implant Dentistry as a member and Associate Fellow. Distinguished as a leading expert in implant dental care, he has been chosen to mentor other doctors seeking fellowship certification. He is also one of the only 300 active dentists worldwide whom have been selected as diplomates of the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry. In addition, he has lectured at several dental organizations. Currently, he practices implant surgery only and works for several offices in Michigan and Florida.
When Dr. Young is not inspiring doctors or restoring smiles, he is with his wife, Sandy, of 40 years. They have two daughters and one grandaughter. He likes to stay fit and active with golfing, skiing and weight lifting.
